The nation’s largest congregation of Vespa owners

Kuala Lumpur, 12 October 2011 - Practically everyone has heard the name Vespa, the premium Italian brand of scooter. If you happen to be one of the few who hasn’t, then the perfect opportunity to introduce yourself to the brand has arrived - the 1 Malaysia Vespa Jamboree 2011. The event is set to be the largest gathering of Vespa owners Malaysia has seen and will be held in front of the stadium at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa from 21 to 23 October 2011.

The 1 Malaysia Vespa Jamboree 2011 is organized by the Malaysian Vespa Association (Persatuan Vespa Malaysia; PVM) and sponsored by NAZA Premira Sdn Bhd, a company under the NAZA Group of Companies and the sole importer and distributor of Vespa scooters in Malaysia. Visitors can expect to encounter an array of Vespa scooters, with a vibrant combination of both the classic, ‘old school’ models and more recent ‘new age’ models. Ardent Vespa owners and members of various clubs/organizations registered under the Malaysian Vespa Association will unite for an extraordinary experience amongst others who share their passion for this globally loved brand.

“We estimate that close to 1,000 Vespa owners intend to participate in this event. This is the opportunity for all the Vespa owners to gather and share experiences of being a ‘Vesparian’,” said En. Wan Hussain Wan Abdul Jalil, President of Malaysian Vespa Association. Participation of other bikers and bike enthusiasts is most welcome. Entrance to the event is FREE. Various activities are prepared to enthrall the public; such as the ‘Vespa Cantik’ competition, a motorsport competition and a lucky draw session.

As the main sponsor and coordinator of this event, NAZA Premira Sdn Bhd will have booths to showcases their bikes and merchandise from the scooter line: namely Vespa and Piaggio. Visitors have the opportunity to purchase the merchandise at special discounted prices which are only available for the three day jamboree. 8 sets of custom painted Vespa bikes in football theme will also be on display at the NAZA Premira booths.

“It always gives us a great sense of satisfaction to sponsor events such as these, where we can see and experience the passion that our customers and long term Vespa lovers share,” said Dato’ SM Zulkifli SM Amin, Group Chief Operating Officer NAZA Group of Companies.

“In addition to the 1Malaysia Vespa Jamboree, a special convoy around town has been organized for Vesparians on the evening of 22nd October. NAZA is in fact also organizing a fun-filled carnival, the Bikepalooza 2011, this weekend. It will be an extraordinary occasion at which Vespa will be just one of the many brands on display,” he added.
